Construction Litigation

Construction litigation can involve everything from arson and fire to the failure to build a structure in a workmanlike manner. Construction litigation cases usually involve layers of contracts and many related parties from general contractors, subcontractors, architects, inspectors, insurers, and a host of other professions or trades such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, surveyors and also suppliers (products liability). Hayden has litigated many construction cases during his career, from smaller cases involving a botched bathroom remodel to the complete fire loss of a multistory commercial building in a dense urban corridor. Hayden has represented contractors, insurance companies, and, in one case, Virginia Commonwealth University by special appointment of the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia in a massive fire loss case resulting from numerous negligent acts.
